Elhayni, Eliezer
Eliezer ben David and Aliza was born on the 9th of Tevet, December 13, 1956 in Ein Kerem, Jerusalem. In February 1975, before he was drafted into the army, Eliezer was sent to a driving course, and from the beginning of the practical service, he was engaged in this profession. After basic training he was assigned to the General Staff. A few months later, he was promoted to the rank of Terach, and was sent to the Gaza Strip. The commander of the Rafah district, chose him to be his personal driver. Eliezer fulfilled his duties faithfully despite the high demands, and was promoted to Corporal. On the 11th of Iyar 5736 May 11, 1976, while driving alone on the mission of his commander, a road accident occurred and he fell in the line of duty. Eliezer was laid to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. Survived by his parents, three brothers and three sisters. The family donated a holy ark and a parochet to a synagogue in memory of Eliezer.
