Elharar, Abraham Israel


Son of Rachel and Mardoshi, was born on October 25, 1964 in Migdal Ha’Emek. Until sixth grade, he attended the “Harry” elementary school in his town. Afterward, he went to study at the Bnei Akiva high school in Kiryat Shmuel, Haifa. During his studies, Avraham Israel participated in social activities of the Bnei Akiva movement. He loved sports and played in the youth basketball team at Migdal Haemek. After graduating from high school, Avraham Israel joined the IDF in January 1983 and served in the Israel Air Force, where he underwent basic training, took an electronics course, got promoted to the rank of corporal and worked in the Israel Defense Forces as an electronic engineer. He was later transferred to a similar position in the Armored Corps. At the end of September 1984, Avraham Yisrael began to complain of pain and a general feeling of ill health. He was hospitalized, and after treatment at the hospital returned to serve. He continued to do his job as much as he could, between attacks. On February 15, 1985, Avraham Yisrael died of his illness. He was 20 when he died. He was laid to rest in the military section of the cemetery in Migdal Haemek. He left behind his parents, four brothers and four sisters
