Elbaz, Eliezer (Kid)
Son of Yosef and Rina. Born on 17.12.1958 in Nahariya, he studied at the Katznelson Elementary School in Nahariya and continued his high school studies at the military boarding school near the Reali School in Haifa, in the biological track. Eliezer was a friendly boy, loved and accepted by everyone. He was a good student, liked to read books and was interested in many subjects. At school he took part in sports. He had a natural talent for painting and sculpture. In the period between the end of his studies and his enlistment in the Israel Defense Forces, he planned to continue to develop his talent for painting after his military service, and in October 1976 he was drafted into the IDF and assigned to the paratroopers. Eliezer was left in the officers’ school as a guide to two additional cadets, and his commanders admired him as an officer with knowledge and experience in training and was willing to initiate his position as tour officer. On the 13th of Adar 5739 (11.3.1979), Eliezer fell in the cemetery in Nahariya, leaving behind his parents, brother and sister In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, Col. Dov , Kid’s commander: “When he came to me for an interview, he asked to serve in the Golani Brigade, and indeed they wanted him there very much, and I told him that he would stay for several months as a reconnaissance officer, I did not know whether I had persuaded him, but he remained, and I loved his self-confidence in his ability and the manner in which he had prepared the tasks he was entrusted with. I was very trustworthy and entrusted him with tasks that were important to me, to be carried out accurately and on time. “
