Elazara, Maimon


Ben Masuda and Moshe. He was born on February 2, 1943, in Morocco. In 1956, when he was thirteen, Maimon immigrated to Israel with his family, who settled in Safed. Maimon studied in the State Elementary School in Safed. He began his high school studies at the state elementary school, but he left his city and joined Kibbutz Ein Gev where he completed his studies. Maimon began his regular service in the IDF in November 1960. After completing his service, he returned to Kibbutz Ein Gev, where he stayed for a while and decided to leave him, and he moved to the south of Israel, where he met with his wife, And his four children – Orly, Ronen, Hagai and Itai – in September 1970, Maimon returned to serve in the IDF as a career soldier. From then until the end of his life, he extended his tenure again. During his long service, Maimon held various positions and was highly regarded. He was promoted to the rank of sergeant, and even recommended his participation in an officer’s course, and he was highly skilled in the maintenance corps, and served as a transport noncom, and later became a senior transport commander and camp commander. And during his service, his commanders noted that he was highly motivated and was doing his job well beyond what was required, and Maimon participated in the wars of the Six Day War, Yom Kippur and Peace for the Galilee on May 17, 1990) was killed during the course of his service. He died of an illness after a long hospitalization in his 47th year. Maimon was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Be’er Sheva. His brother Raya, a daughter, had three sons and two grandchildren who gave birth to his eldest daughter, five sisters and four brothers – Yosef, Jacqueline, Sima, Meir, Pani, Yehiel, Danny, Zahava and Esther. A certificate of appreciation and respect for his long service in the permanent army was given to the bereaved family.
