Elazar (Mendel), Zvi

Zvi ben Shmuel and Friedla was born on the 12th of Elul, September 12th, 1957 in Volbek, the coal mining town of Silesia, Poland, the second son of parents of Holocaust survivors. When Zvi was seven years old, the mother decided to immigrate to Israel with her two sons. In November 1975 Zvi was drafted into the IDF, and two weeks earlier he had officially changed his last name from Mendel to Lesser. He fell while serving, on the 11th of Nissan, April 11th, 1976. His remains were laid-rest at the military cemetery in Haifa. He left behind if a brother.
