Eji, Moshe (Musa)

Eji, Moshe (Musa)

Son of Miriam and Chaim was born on 28 March 1930 in Jerusalem. He completed his studies at the elementary school and began working in his father’s workshop. In 1946 he joined the Haganah. He participated in battles in and around Jerusalem, the Makor Haim neighborhood, Talpiot, Sheikh Jarrah, Arnona, and Motza. Even the attacks on Castel and Kolonia were not absent. On the 14th of Iyar 5708 (23.5.1948), Moshe went out with a squad from his unit to lay anti-tank mines opposite the access road to Sheikh Jarrah. As a result of the explosion, Moshe was killed and his burial place is unknown. A monument in his memory was erected in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. This fallen hero is a “maklan” – a hero whose burial place is unknown.
