Eitan, Bezalel (Bezalel)

Son of Mina and Joseph, was born on the 11th of Shvat 5623 (11.2.1923) in Stuttgart, Germany. His parents were killed during the decrees in Nazi Germany, but he succeeded in immigrating with his older brother to Eretz Israel in 1940. Bezalel studied at the agricultural school in Pardes Hannah and continued to study at the Kadouri School, because he loved the work of the land. After completing his studies, he joined the Palmach with his friends from the “Nir” group of Hashomer Hatzair, among whom was his good friend Yehuda’eli Tzfati, who fell in battle in Latrun. He moved to Kibbutz Sha’ar Ha’amakim and after a few weeks went to Tel Amal and devoted himself to his work as a tractor operator. From Tel-Amal he went to the Negev and worked on the water line, and was one of the founders of Dangur, a Kibbutz Nirim, which in a certain sense was his work. The first moment of its establishment and plans for the development of the spot, Bezalel fell on the 15th of Iyar 5708 (May 15, 1948) in Nirim, during the attack of the Egyptian army on the spot, in the role of Lt. M. He ran in the communication channels to give instructions after the phone was disconnected. To rest in the cemetery in Nirim.
