Eisenberg, Yaakov

Yaakov, son of Ahuva and Shmuel-Chaim Eisenberg, was born in 1923 in Warsaw, Poland. After making aliya, he settled in Hadera, joined Hashomer Hatzair, joined Kibbutz Beit Alpha and prepared himself for agricultural training, but because of the need to help his parents he gave up and worked as a builder in Hadera. Yaakov was married and had a daughter, and during the War of Independence he trained in sabotage, served in the infantry of the Naftali region and later in one of the regular battalions in the “Alexandri” brigade. Among other things, he participated in the conquest of Tantura, Kenir and Kakun, and in the defense of Ma’anit. On the 4th of Tishrei (October 7, 1948), he fell while serving near Kfar Glickson and was brought to eternal rest in the Hadera military cemetery.
