Eisenbaum, Dov


Son of Sarah. Dina and Moshe. He was born in 1894 in Garbolyn, Poland. In 1921 he emigrated to Cuba and in 1934 immigrated with his family to Eretz Israel in order to give his children a Jewish education. He built his home in Bat Yam, was one of the first settlers in the area and joined the ranks of the Haganah. In Bat Yam, he made a living from a bakery he bought at the site, and he went daily to distribute the bread in Jaffa and Tel Aviv, even when the road was in danger. During the bloody riots of March 19, 1938, when he was leading bread to the shops, he was shot by an Arab assassin, he was transferred to Hadassah Hospital where he died of his wounds, and a wife, three sons and a daughter .
