Eini, Sasson (Friday)

Son of Jacob and Araleh. Born in Rehovot on December 1, 1959, Shishi began his studies at the “Yosef Sprinzak” school in the city. “The book was credited to Sassi because he” always volunteered to help the teachers and staff of the school, and he did so with devotion, loyalty and full maturity. Showed warm affection for his friends, and anyone in need of help received a devoted care. He was loved and admired by all teachers and students alike, because of his good nature and calm temperament. The award for “good citizenship” – the only one from the graduating class – was completed at the end of his studies at the school. “Shishi also excelled in his excellent athletic ability, and many sports certificates and prizes were collected in his bag. He was a member of the Hapoel Rehovot basketball team and took part in a group-group course on behalf of the Wingate Institute and was a member of the Hanoar Haoved Vehalomed youth movement, where he attended the Katzir High School and attended it until the 10th grade. He acquired the profession of retelling, and during the remaining time until his enlistment in the IDF – about a year and a half – he worked at the Weizmann Institute as a trainee in the plumber. The director states that “he was an excellent worker, responsible and devoted, with initiative and resourcefulness and is acceptable to all the department’s employees.” Shai’s career in the IDF led him to the Artillery Corps from the beginning, and was recruited in February 1978 and took a professional course in the Jordan Valley. A few months after his induction, he became ill with fever and fell during his service on July 7, 1978. He was laid to rest in the military section of the cemetery in Rehovot, leaving behind his parents, three brothers and a sister. He wrote to the bereaved family: “In the short period of time he served in our unit, he showed the qualities of purity of Lev and willingness to come to the aid of his friends and help them in difficult situations.” The Rehovot Municipality’s Names Committee responded to the family’s request to call a new kindergarten – In the name of Sasson Eini.
