Eigel, Nathan
During the First World War he lived in London, England, and volunteered for the Jewish Legion – the 39th Battalion of the King’s Rifles in the framework of the British Army. Together with the battalion, he arrived in Palestine to participate in the conquest of the Turks. He fought in Jericho and participated in the campaign to capture a-Salt in Transjordan. On the 18th of Kislev, 1811.1918, Natan passed away while carrying out his duties. His memory was commemorated in “The Book of Recognition for British Jewry 1914-1918”. An investigation conducted in 2017 revealed that his resting place was located in the military cemetery in Cairo, Egypt. Grave Location P.159 Age 25 Rank Company Serjeant.
