Eidelstein, Sylvia (Zvia)


Daughter of Reuven and Aliza. She was born on August 25, 1954 in Montevideo, Uruguay. She was nine when she immigrated with her family to Israel. The family settled in the area and Silvia attended the “Shiva” school in the area. Afterward, she attended the Alliance high school in Tel Aviv and continued at the Mishlav school. Sylvia was very active in the Hanoar Haoved Vehalomed movement and took part in all the movement’s activities. As a lively and lively girl she loved the walks, the parties and the joys of a youth movement. Like every girl her age she liked to hear records, to watch movies and read novels. She was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces in April 1972 and assigned to the Signal Corps On July 20, 1972, Sylvia fell while serving in an accident while sailing on the Sea of ​​Galilee. She was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. Although she served for a very short period of time, her commander said in a letter of condolence to the parents: “I wish to note her kindness and warm attitude to all those around her in her job and outside.”
