Egozi, Yosef (Yossi)

Egozi, Yosef (Yossi)

Congratulations and peace. Was born on September 30, 1969, in Yokne’am Illit. Yossi was born to his parents after two daughters, and as a result was the family’s indulgent child. Yossi visited a religious kindergarten that completed its concepts in Judaism and adapted to the traditional religious atmosphere that prevailed in his home. When he was six years old, Yossi went to the Torah for the first time, and in a Yemenite accent recited the verses correctly. Naturally, Yossi continued his elementary education at Hadasim State Religious School and completed his high school studies at the Kfar Hasidim religious youth village. Yossi was always willing to help others, both close and distant. His kindness and his easy disposition favored him, and he bought him many friends. He was active in the Bnei Akiva youth movement in Yokne’am and took part in the activities of the Gadna, where Yossi enjoyed the artistic work, drawing and sculpting, and the works of his talent remained in his estate, while Yossi aspired to serve in an elite combat unit. He accepted the law, and in August 1988 he enlisted in the Border Police unit, and Yossi wanted to contribute to the state from his best but did not manage to do so. On September 26, 1988, Yossi was killed in an arms accident while carrying out his duties. While he was being held in the camp, a bullet was fired from a soldier and killed Yossi. He was nineteen when he fell. Was laid to rest in the military section of the Yokne’am Illit cemetery. He left behind his parents, four sisters and a brother. The family commemorated the donation of a Torah library and the establishment of a large marble box in the Shivat Zion synagogue in Yokne’am.
