Edri, Daniel
Daniel, son of Sima and Eliyahu Edri, was born on April 12, 1964 in Casablanca, Morocco. Daniel was six months old when his family immigrated to Israel and established their home in Ramat Hasharon and when Daniel was thirteen, they moved to Netanya. In August 1982 Daniel was drafted into the army and assigned to the Armored Corps. He completed basic training, went to the tank course, and was sent to the Armored Corps for a long time. Daniel served in Lebanon as a tank driver for many months, and in September 1985, Daniel was discharged from the IDF. He returned to his home in Netanya and worked in a diamond polishing workshop. In August 1987, Daniel was called to active reserve duty. On the 13th of Elul 5747 (September 7, 1987), Daniel fell while serving. He was buried in the cemetery in the Son of-Zion neighborhood of Netanya and was survived by his parents, four brothers – Yaish, Leon, Dede, and Roni, and two sisters, Alice and Hannah.
