Eces, Mordechai


Son of Rivka and Avraham, was born on the 16th of Tishrei 5626 (October 4, 1925) In Zichron Yaacov. With the outbreak of the War of Independence, he was among the escorts of the convoys to Jerusalem. Avraham participated in the attacks on Abu Kabir and was one of those who blew up the ice factory in Yaazor. He was in active service in Safed and was shot there by the British. During the battles he was sent with his platoon as reinforcements to Gush Etzion and stationed at Kibbutz Masuot-Yitzhak. On May 13, 1948, during the last attack of the Legion on the Bloc, he fell on guard duty under unknown circumstances. On the 19th of Cheshvan 5710 (17.11.1949) he was transferred to eternal rest in the military cemetery at Har-Herzl in Jerusalem.
