Dviri, Yonantan (Yoni)
Son of Manuela and Abraham. He was born on the 10th of Tammuz 5737 (10.7.1977) in Kfar Sava. At the end of March 1996, Yoni enlisted in the Israel Defense Forces, and after completing basic training, he underwent a course for squad commanders and an observer course, and was assigned to the Intelligence Unit’s observation unit, due to limited visual problems, but he insisted on serving in Lebanon. On 26/02/1998, Yoni was killed by shrapnel from a mortar shell fired by terrorists at the Karkum outpost when he was engaged in a surveillance mission. With him fell Lieutenant Asaf Rosenfeld and First Sergeant Ronen Eshel. Yoni was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. He was twenty years old when he fell. Survived by his parents, brother and sister. After his death he was promoted to the rank of First Sergeant.
