Dvir (Dzielovsky), Esther (“Etty”)

Daughter of Shlomo and Shoshana. She was born on March 17, 1945 in Merhavia. From the age of three she grew up in Afula and attended elementary and high school there until she completed her studies there. As a high school student, she volunteered for Operation Ilan to help paralyzed children hospitalized. She belonged to the Hanoar Haoved movement, and even served as its counselor. She studied at the Wingate Institute for Physical Training and taught at Hapoel on a voluntary basis. She was one of the organizers of folk dances in the city, loved literature and music and studied piano at the conservatory in Afula. Her friends and even older ones loved her. When she was in high school, she participated in the drama club and after her induction in October 1963 she was included in the base band. She served in the air force. Her great love for flowers had tended to them, and while she was at home he cultivated his garden-and never returned to its base without bringing a bouquet of flowers. Upon completion of her service, she prepared to study at the Hebrew Technion in Haifa and continue playing. On the 18th of Nisan 5725 (April 20, 1965), she fell while serving and was brought to rest in the military cemetery in Afula.
