Dubno, Avraham
The eldest son of Rachel and Jacob, was born on the 19th of Sivan, June 1, 1926 in Jerusalem. When the War of Independence broke out he was removed from his studies and sent to an auxiliary weapons instructors course. Avraham served in the Carmeli Brigade, participated in the conquest of Haifa, in reprisals against the village of rioters in Ladd a-Sheikh, was among the conquerors of Acre and participated in the battles in Jenin. At the same time, he expected to be transferred to the IAF. On the 9th of Tamuz, July 16, 1948, during Operation Brosh, in an attempt to push the Syrians out of the Mishmar Hayarden region, an armored Syrian force attacked the outpost, and Avraham ordered his men to withdraw and he himself remained to take care of a wounded friend and was killed. He was buried in the cemetery in Rosh Pina, and onthe 28th of Kislav, December 7, 1950 he was laid to rest in the Nachlat Yitzhak military cemetery.
