Another had two hobbies: playing chess and hypnosis, inspired by his father Avishalom Drori. Erik was very devoted to his family, and it was always right to help his parents, whether with good advice, or with agricultural work in the moshav. He was drafted into the IDF in early February 1974 and joined the Golani Brigade, where he completed a three-year training course in the IDF. Among his duties: officer of the brigade platoon and the Gadna branch. He even took part behind the scenes of Operation Entebbe. According to his commanders, Erik was “a professional and quiet officer, a man of work. In a farewell letter at the end of one of his posts, Arik was told: “After this period, I will have a good memory of a ‘man’ officer who does not put his feet in there and is always willing to lend a hand when necessary.” In 1980, he married his girlfriend, Tagit, a daughter of Zichron Yaakov, and a year later his son was born, The family built their home in Moshav Talmei Elazar, but because of Arik’s duties, they often wandered around the country, and Arik aspired to study psychology and behavioral sciences at the university, combining it with the hobby of hypnosis and the desire to help others, but postponed his studies due to the constraints of military service. In the year 5719 (9.1.1989), Arik fell during his service and was put to rest at the military cemetery in Pardes Hannah. He left behind a wife, son, mother and three sisters – Aya, Osnat and Eilat. He received a certificate of appreciation and respect for his service in the career army. In a letter of condolences to the bereaved family, Moshe Sharir, who was the commander of the Gadna, wrote: “His personality, as I have maintained over the years, is that of a kind, honest and fair man.
