Dror, Hod


Ben Zahava and Jacob. He was born on June 16, 1970 in Haifa. He began his studies at an elementary school in Haifa, jumped up a grade, and went on to the junior high school in Bassem. He completed his high school studies at the Reali School in Haifa. Prior to his recruitment, he was a candidate for the Academic Reserve for Law Studies at Tel Aviv University. Hod gave up his enlistment to the reserve and applied to serve in the Intelligence Corps. In mid-March 1988, Hod was drafted into compulsory army service and was appointed to the Intelligence Corps On June 7, 1989, Hod was killed while serving in the military cemetery in Haifa. Survived by his parents, two brothers – Yosef and Nitzan, and a sister – Limor. He was nineteen when he died. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, the commander of the unit wrote, among other things: “The late Hod served in our unit for about nine months, and in this short period we noticed his good qualities and his proper measurements. He was modest, loved and accepted by his friends. Hod showed initiative and caring in the performance of his duties and held every position. “
