Dresler, Chaim-David


Son of Dvora and Eli-Meir, was born on the 18th of Iyar, 5.5.1912, in Lodz, Poland, and in 1934 immigrated to Israel. Here he experienced absorption difficulties, hard work, lack of work, and finally obtained regular work in the telephone department of the Postal Service in Jerusalem. Chaim-David married and began a normal life. During the 1936 riots he was active in the Hagana, and in the War of Independence he returned to serve in the defense of Jerusalem. Captain Chaim-David fell in the line of duty in the new Beit Yisrael on the 24th of Iyar 5708 (June 1, 1948). He was buried in Sheikh Bader Aleph. He left a wife and three children. On the 23rd of Elul 5710 (Sept 3, 1950) he was put to rest in the cemetery at Har HaMenuhot (Givat Shaul) in Jerusalem.
