Dovzhinsky, Nathan


Son of Hedva and Yitzhak, members of Kibbutz Tel Yosef, were born on September 24, 1929, in Eretz Israel, and the days of the 1929 riots were marked by the death of the father. Nathan grew up in the kibbutz, finished the joint school, became a nokd and a dairy farmer, and Nathan was completely involved in the economy and followed with love and anxiety after all the small and great things that had taken place in him and his surroundings. The enemy attacked the force in the outpost from two directions with the aid of armored vehicles, and that was forced to withdraw. In the harsh retreat in an open area under crossfire, many of the fighters fell. On the 18th of Tammuz 5708 (18.7.1948) Ten days after his enlistment in the IDF, Nathan fell in this battle, and his mother, who was sick, did not last long after the tragedy and died shortly after the death of the son.
