Dovster, Moshe


Moshe, son of Esther and Fishel Dovster, was born in 1921 in Berlin, Germany. During the War of Independence he completed a paramedics course and served as a medic in the Alexandroni Brigade. He took part in the action against Tira and the “Horev” operation. The attack took place on the eastern flank of the “pocket” in the area of ​​Iraq al-Manshiyya. Alexandroni forces broke into the village from the south and took control, but by storming the hill north of the village it was repulsed. Meanwhile, the Egyptians recovered and attacked and forced our forces to withdraw. Part of the force was trapped inside the village. In this battle he fell, while helping his wounded commander, on 26 Kislev, December 28, 1948. Moshe was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Rehovot.
