Dotan, Ran (Rani)

Ben Chaya and Shalom. Was born on 13.7.1973 in Rishon Letzion, where Rani began his studies at the Yefe Nof Elementary School. When he was in second grade, Rani’s family moved to Karnit and continued his junior high school and did high school in Misgav. Larney had ambitions to serve as a combat soldier, but because of health problems, his ambitions did not materialize. In January 1992, Rani enlisted in the Israel Air Force and was assigned to the Air Force base, where he served as a warehouseman in the Rani unit, and was a close and professional soldier. He says that he did his job with great dedication and efficiency, and he loved the place of service and his profession, and Rani’s friends say that he was quiet, modest and kind to all those around him, and he was recognized as an outstanding soldier for his work and contribution. Rani fell in the line of duty on the 20th of Tammuz 5754 (June 20, 1994) and was twenty-one years old He was buried in the Misgav cemetery and left behind his parents and three brothers – Arnon, Shai and Omer.
