Dotan, Assaf


Son of Aryeh HaKohen and Irma. He was born on April 13, 1941 in Beit Hashita. He completed his studies at the elementary school in Ayelet Hashahar, visited a vocational school in England and later in the following classes in Ayelet Hashahar. He was a farmer by profession and even engaged in manual labor and youth training. He belonged to the Hanoar Haoved movement. He was Yaffa, devoted to his parents and a loyal friend of his agriculture and his friends. Was drafted into the IDF in August 1959. He was an example of many of the various tasks, and fell during his duties on the 7th of Tevet 5762 (26.12.1960) and was brought to rest at the cemetery in Ayelet Hashahar. In the 1930s, Ayelet Hashachar’s farm published a booklet that tells the story of his life and reflects his image. His memory was mentioned in Uri Milstein’s book, “The Paratroop Wars.”
