Dornstreich, Arie (“Shumi”)

Son of Moshe Aharon and Perla. Was born on April 6, 1945 in the city of Sozon, in Russia. Aryeh was four years old when the family immigrated to Israel in 1949. He attended the Tachkemoni primary and secondary school in Hadera. He loved sports and belonged to Hapoel. He was drafted into the IDF in August 1963. On August 12, 1965, he was killed in a battle on the Syrian border: “Aryeh’s nobility, his proper manner and his humane and warm approach to his subordinates will serve as an example, Under fire, with courage and cold-heartedness, will guide those who follow him. “He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Hadera.
