Dori, Nir
Ben Naomi and David. Born on May 19, 1979 in Haifa, brother of Tal and Gil. His family writes about him: “Nir, a boy who was diagnosed in infancy as a small head, was discovered in the third grade exams as a gifted child.” So he went to the “Yelin” and “Leo Baeck” enrichment classes for nine years. He did not spend a lot of time, everything went easily, / was full of humor, arguments and cynicism. / Nir loved animals of all kinds: horseback riding, bats nature, bred dogs. He played in his free time and when he served in the IDF – every Friday / to be photographed, very dislike /; The most severe punishment for him was a kiss without wiping. “Nir was amazing to play the organ, the classical guitar, the electric guitar and more … His most outstanding feature was modesty.” Nir, a gifted young man with high data, Nir enlisted in the IDF in early February 1998. He was placed in the Ordnance Corps and at the end of the basic training he was assigned to the “Five Cruelty” course at Training Base 20. Nir was not pleased with his appointment and submitted a request Since he had been his field of expertise for years, and on the assumption that he could increase his contribution to the IDF, but his request was rejected. He graduated cum laude and was placed as a ‘cruel instrument’ in the Engineering Corps. His commanders saw him as an outstanding soldier, who performed his duties with great professionalism, to the best of his ability, to the perfection of the performance, showed endless devotion and stood out for his modesty. On January 3, 1998, Nir died at the age of nineteen. He was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Haifa. Survived by his parents, sister and brother. On his first birthday after his death, his family held a concert by the Bustan Avraham band in his memory. Since then, every birthday has been held in memory of ‘Tur-Nir’ – a family trip and a musical event each year in a different place in Israel, in cooperation with the Haifa patrols. On the fourth anniversary of Nir’s death, a booklet was published in his memory.
