Dori, Meir

Son of George and Rina. Born on 4 July 1935 in the city of Dalim, Iraq, graduated from elementary school there, immigrated to Israel in 1951. He was a member of “Youth Aliya” in Kibbutz Gat, where he studied in the first grade of high school And he wanted to continue with them, but because of the difficult financial situation of his parents, who lived in the Ramat Hasharon transit camp, he was not able to fulfill his ambition and he moved to them, where he served as an example of youth. Forced him to enlist in the army before he reached the age of service – in January 1955. He fell in the course of his duty on the 27th of March 1957 and was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul.
