Doref, Ilan


Son of Rachel and Yehuda, was born on the 16th of Cheshvan 5723 (13.11.1962) in Tel Aviv. Ilan began his studies at the Yahalom School in Ramat Gan, where he completed eight classes. Afterward, he moved to a vocational school in the field of car electrical engineering. In November 1981, Ilan enlisted in the IDF and was assigned to the Ordnance Corps, where he trained in armored personnel carriers and took a parachuting course. In January 1982 he was promoted to the rank of corporal, and Ilan served in the Armored Corps until completing compulsory service, and in February 1984 he volunteered to serve in the regular army and was raised to the rank of sergeant.In June 1984, Ilan felt ill and was transferred from his employment base in Lebanon to Beit- Tel Hashomer Hospital, where he lost consciousness, and efforts were made to save his life for two months. On August 7, 1984, Ilan passed away without regaining consciousness. He was 21 years old when he died. He was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul in Tel Aviv. He left behind his parents, two brothers and a sister.
