Dolinko, Shmuel
Son of Sarah and Moshe was born on June 2, 1962, in the city of Pinsk (which was then part of Poland) and in 1933 immigrated to Israel with his parents. Shmuel began to study at the elementary school in Kiryat Haim, continued his studies at Yagur vocational school, and later worked as an accountant at the Tnuva offices. He was active in Hanoar Haoved and for a while served as secretary of the local branch. From the age of 15, he belonged to the Gadna and later to the “Young Life” movement. He excelled in riding and using weapons, and managed to obtain from the Arabs of nearby villages useful information to prevent the theft of Jewish property in the area and the military feature of the Arabs. In 1946 he was discharged from the service and returned to work at Tnuva. In 1947, he got married and immediately began the War of Independence that brought him back to service among the first to join the ranks of the Carmeli Brigade, and served in the battles of Hawassa, Tamara and other villages The environment, the defense of Ramat Yochanan (to which he accelerated the new tools that came from the Czech Republic and taught the people, in the midst of the storm of battle, how to use them) and the liberation of the Western Galilee (here too, he excelled in saving arms that he led by sea).
