Div, Samir


Son of Nora and Hussein. Samir was born in Beit Jann on 5 September 1960. An only son with four sisters. He grew up, was educated and graduated from the village of Beit Jann. In 1978, Samir enlisted for regular service in the Border Police. In 1981 he signed a permanent border police unit Tu. In 1982 he moved to serve in the Border Police in the Northern Border Police unit, in order to prevent the infiltration of terrorists, and Samir took part in every operation and activity in Lebanon, (Sergeant) Samir fell during his duty in Lebanon during the first Tsur disaster. On the morning of November 11, 1982, during the Peace for Galilee war, an explosion occurred in a building in the city of Tzur, home to the Israeli military government and many IDF forces. The building collapsed and about 100 people were killed, including seventy-six members of the Israeli security forces. Samir was twenty-two years old when he fell. He was buried in the family grave in Beit Jann.
