Dingot, Michael (Bobby)


Son of Sarah and Moshe. He was born on July 7, 1918 in Duisburg, Germany, and completed his studies at the Jewish school in Cologne. When he was fifteen, he immigrated with his family to Eretz Israel. The family settled in Haifa and there he completed his studies at the Reali School. He was stationed as a guard at the central post office in Haifa and served as a security guard for the mail car that traveled to various localities around Haifa. On one of the trips, on March 27, 1939, the mail car was shot and Michael was hit in the head by the bullets of the murderers and was killed on the spot. He was laid to rest in the Haifa cemetery, and was survived by his mother and two sisters.
