Diner (Goldin), Yaakov
Son of Asher and Sarah. He was born on July 14, 1947 in Tel Aviv. When he reached school age, he began studying at the Dubnov School in his hometown and graduating there. He then completed his studies at the Tel Aviv Municipal High School. He was a member of the Scouts. In August 1965 he was drafted into the IDF, serving in the paratrooper Nahal Brigade, and was an excellent soldier and loyal friend. Yaakov was assigned to the reserve brigade of the paratroopers and participated in the Six-Day War in the liberation of Jerusalem. It was his determined desire that made him try to prove that the body measurements were not the criterion for this ability and strength was the parachutist and later the officer. Once, when he fell, his leg broke, but despite his pain he continued to train his subordinates with his leg in a cast. Jacob was loved by everyone who knew him, his subordinates and his commanders. Became a talented officer and later served as a liaison officer in his battalion. He had the extraordinary ability, as the commander of his unit noted in the letter of condolence to his home, and performed his role impeccably. There was no task in his profession that he could not. Yaakov did not relate his future with the army, but rather intended to continue his studies at the Hebrew Technion in Haifa. But fate did not, and on February 8, 1968, after his service was extended, he fell from the direct hit of an enemy tank in front of the Damia Bridge, and was laid to rest in the Kiryat Shaul military cemetery.
