Dimri, Jacob


Son of David and Desiree. Born on 28.4.1947 in Gans, Tunisia, the family immigrated to Israel in 1952. Yaakov studied at the “Hinuch” school in Safed, and then, at the end of his working hours in the diamond polishing plant, He was a member of the Hanoar Haoved movement and was very attached to his family, and in May 1965 he was drafted into the IDF. Did his regular service in the Border Guard and when he was on leave he would hurry home and ease his mother’s burden by washing dishes, washing and other housework. But not only with his family, but also with his friends. In a time of emergency for the people, before the Six Day War, he left his home in the middle of his vacation. He fell during his service on the 24th of Iyar 5727 (June 4, 1967) and was brought to eternal rest in the military section of the Safed cemetery.
