Dimant, Yehoshua-Chaim
Yehoshua-Chaim, son of Shoshana and Moshe Dimant, was born on June 10, 1925 in Jerusalem. At the age of five he was orphaned and sent to an orphanage. When he grew up, he went to work and joined the Histadrut Hanoar Haoved. During the Second World War he volunteered for the British Army and served in the Jewish Brigade. After the war he served for a while in the Nutras and then continued to work as a laborer and was a member of the Haganah. From the beginning of the battles in the War of Independence, he participated in the defense of Jerusalem and encouraged his comrades with his words and courage. On May 29, 1948, he fell during the enemy’s attack on Talpiot, and was buried in Sheikh Bader A. On September 10, 1950, he was transferred to the eternal military cemetery at Har- Herzl in Jerusalem.
