Diab, Salameh


Son of Mohammed and Fada. Salameh was born on May 18, 1956 in the Shibli tribe, which is located at the foot of Mount Tabor. He completed his studies at a school in the village of Shibli, and was an outstanding student, loved by his friends in the community and his acquaintances from the surrounding Jewish communities. He was a good and disciplined soldier in the unit, and in the middle of 1982 Salameh married Huda, but did not manage to raise a family. In the course of the Peace for Galilee War, an explosion took place in a building in the city of Tire where the Israeli military government was located.. The building collapsed and about 100 people were killed, including seventy-six members of the Israeli security forces. Salameh was twenty-six years old when he died. He was brought to rest in Shibli. Survived by his wife, parents, four brothers – Ali, Issa, Diab, Ayad, and four sisters – Najma, Kamla, Rasmiya, Fatma. Salameh’s father died a year after the son’s death. Salameh’s widow married his younger brother Iyad. One of their children was named after her late husband – Salameh.
