Ben Rachel and Eliyahu. He was born on the 12th of Adar 573 (February 14, 1973) in Atlit. He studied at the Neve Rachel Elementary School in Atlit and then completed his studies at the Kfar Galim High School. Nadav was an outstanding student, diligent and polite, admired by his teachers and friends, and had a special talent for liking people. His English teacher says: “I loved you as a student, I had the privilege of recognizing the optimism in your personality, the love of life – with the smile, the effort, the difficulty and the duty.” And his friend Erez said: “It was pleasant for him to be around his friends, and he was never arrogant about them.” Nadav was a religious guy and was meticulous in observing tefillin. He was loyal to his parents and treated his mother with devotion when she was sick. In addition to his high school studies he worked at odd jobs, as a gardener and in the grocery store, in order to ease his financial burden on his parents. Here, too, his kindness to the old and the young and to every human being was revealed. He was drafted into the IDF in July 1991 as part of the Technological Reserve, and he intended to continue his studies in the 13th grade in his school and to return to the army as a technician. In mid-July 1991 he started basic training. Four days later, on July 19, 1991, in the Nitzanim area, he was hit by a terrorist who fell in his military duties and was brought to eternal rest in the military section of the Atlit cemetery, leaving behind his parents and two sisters – Orly In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, his commander wrote: “The column” Nadav z “l began training in my unit, and despite the short time he had been in my unit since his enlistment, he stood out for his work and performed it flawlessly.
