Deri, Mordechai


The eldest son of Mary and Machluf, was born on September 5, 1964 in Beit She’an, where he studied at the “Shaul Hamelech” elementary school and continued at the “Miften” vocational school, both in Beit She’an. For 10 years, he was orphaned by his mother, and a second blow fell upon him when his father suffered blindness and Mordecai served as his eyes, and Mordecai’s great love was football, and he was an avid fan of the Hapoel Bet She’an soccer team. His friends, and there was almost no path and path in the vicinity where the wheels of his bicycle did not roll in. Mordechai belonged to the Hanoar Haoved Vehalomed movement, was kind, comfortable to everyone around him and loved to reach out Mordechai was drafted into the IDF at the end of October 1982. After basic training, he completed a driving course and was promoted to Corporal and Tzurf to the Golani Brigade. He liked to wear a uniform, and was proud of his service in the IDF. On the 19th of Cheshvan 5744 (25.10.1983), at the end of a year in his service, Corporal Mordecai fell in battle in Lebanon and was brought to eternal rest in the military section of Beit Shean cemetery.
