Deri, Hananiah


Hanania was born in 1952 in Morocco and immigrated to Israel with his family in 1956. After immigrating to Israel, the family lived in Gan Yavne, where Hanania studied at the school. He was a young, sociable, loving life, very devoted to his family, with seven brothers and sisters. He helped the parents take care of his brother, educate and support them. Although he was the youngest of his brothers in the family, he was older in his behavior. Hanania was drafted into the IDF in early 1969, studied the profession of cooks and cooking and served as a cook in bases and field kitchens, combat units in infantry and armor. He was a disciplined soldier and dedicated to his work and fulfilled his duties to the satisfaction of his commanders. At the end of his regular service, he was in charge of a shift in military kitchens. In the Yom Kippur War, Hanania served in Sinai. On the 5th of Tevet 5737 (5.1.1974) he was killed and killed in the shelling of the Egyptians on an IDF base where he served near the Suez Canal near the Suez Canal, and was brought to rest in the Gan Yavne cemetery. Brother and sister, and was promoted to the rank of sergeant, and in a letter of condolences to the bereaved family, the defense minister wrote that Hananiah was a devoted soldier and a loyal friend.
