Peretz, son of Frida and Sheinka, was born on July 4, 1952, in Ramle. He studied at the State Elementary School B and then completed his studies at the Amal vocational school in Ramle. He was a diligent student and from a young age, he showed special interest in manual work related to electricity. For this reason, he chose to study electrical and electronics at the vocational school and graduated with honors. Peretz was a sports fan and a member of the Scout movement. Most of his spare time was divided between the organization of various social activities in the youth movement and games in the table tennis team of “Hapoel” Ramla. In the course of time, he even guided groups of actors in Hapoel. His brother, who used to express his admiration for his inexhaustible energy, would say, “If you do the things you really love – there’s no reason to be tired.” Peretz was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces in early November 1970 and assigned to the Armored Corps, and was sent to serve in the Armored Corps, serving as a model for his soldiers and commanders.
