Dekel, Yosef (“Yossi”)

Dekel, Yosef (“Yossi”)

Son of Ozer and Rachel. He was born on September 20, 1946, in Tunis, Tunisia. In 1954 the family immigrated to Israel and Yossi was seven and a half years old. Yossi entered the second grade with the “Teana” group and moved slowly. He was a healthy child with no problems. He was very Simcha to participate in school trips and was social and always willing to help others. During his years in the bridge (the farm in which his brother Rahamim lived) he became devoted to the agriculture, loved his family and respected his parents. He had a tendency to work. In July 1965 he was drafted into the IDF, and he wanted to go to the Naval Commando. From the day of his enlistment, he never boasted of boastfulness, and his service was given with discipline, efficiency and dedication. She did his job well, as the commander of his unit wrote about him in a letter of condolences to his parents after they fell. He was brave and knew no fear. With great physical fitness, helps the backpackers to travel and encourages others to go all the way. He was proud of both the IDF uniform and the wings of the parachutist he wore, but at the same time he was modest and disinterested, and he participated in most of the IDF’s actions and even in retaliation against the Jordanians. Then he went to the Six-Day War. The bridge, where he grew up, was very attached. Joseph believed that he would help his parents more as a member of the agriculture. On 21.3.1968 Yosef took part in a reprisal action against the Jordanian terrorist bases, known as Operation Karameh (the town east of the Jordan River) The enemy’s saboteurs were concentrated in order to leave for Israel), and after two and nine months of military service he was put to rest in the cemetery in Ramle, where he was promoted to the rank of thirty. Hakibbutz Hameuchad and his comrades who fell in the battle were recalled in the article.
