Davino, Moshe (Moshiko)

Moshe (Moshiko), son of Ruchama and Nissim Davino, was born in Jerusalem, on 28 Cheshvan 5744 (November 12, 1993). Giving and caring for others, helping from the Lev and with love, are the principles that guided him at all times. At first he was assigned to the air force, but he demanded to be a combat soldier, and indeed, on November 27, 2012, he and his classmate were assigned to the Combat Engineering Corps. From the start of his basic training, Moshiko showed his abilities, and toward the end of his training, his commanders asked him to remain in the command echelon there. “Moshiko loved the world of the army,” wrote his commander Lt. Col. Roy, “something that was evident in all his activities from his first day in the battalion. Moshiko was a central figure in the company, loved and admired, a brave and admired fighter. ” On July 26, 2014, as the IDF entered the Gaza Strip, Moshiko volunteered to enter the Hirbet Ahza neighborhood and began searching for tunnels. During the operation an anti-tank missile was fired at Moshiko’s bulldozer, which was the first to enter a new route, killing Moshiko. He was twenty-one years old. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl, Jerusalem. After his fall, Moshiko was promoted to the rank of First Sergeant.
