Davidovitch, Yitzhak-Menashe

Yitzhak-Menashe, son of Bluma and Yehiel Michael, was born on August 29, 1948 in Haifa, and finished elementary and high school in the “Yavneh” religious school in his hometown. Afterward he continued his high studies at Yeshivat Merkaz Harav in Jerusalem. Kissha, as his family and friends affectionately called him, was deeply attached to his country and its people. He was a talented and hard-working boy who did all he could, but did not agree to be thanked or complimented for anything. His deep and deep faith in the Jewish religion led him to a higher level of moral recognition, in which he would admit to having been given the grace to do what he did. Menashecha was a peace-seeker who preached justice and morality by deeds rather than words. He had a strong presence that could not be ignored, and in the course of an argument or a quarrel, his opponents were silenced. The quarrel in his presence seemed redundant and erroneous, and his calming effect on others contributed to the elevation of this humble boy. A schoolteacher from childhood remembers several times that he heard shouts in the yard and sent Menasheh to find out the reason for the incident, and immediately the noise stopped. He had the power of persuasion and the power of publicity, which prevented him from being rejected from the beginning of the dialogue. Because of his belief in the justice of his inner values, people were forced to listen to him, and it was clear that he did not spread his words like gravel, but he thought and turned them upside down, and identified himself with his lofty ideas. Yitzhak-Menashe joined the IDF at the end of September 1966. After completing basic training, he was assigned to serve as a platoon commander in the infantry brigade, and he gained many friends during his army service, and with some of them he remained in close contact after the end of his service. In addition to his studies, which he devoted to his energy and time, not only to fulfill his simple duty, he also played the accordion, and studied with an authorized teacher, and devoted himself to performing both the light exercises and the difficult exercises, One day in memorizing the material, Menasheh loved the other, loved to help his many friends, and even instructed a young man Because of these qualities he became a guide in the Bnei Akiva youth movement, and he took many of his apprentices on trips throughout the country and instilled in them his great love for the homeland and the desire to preserve all its beauty. The hours of the conversation and the calculation of time, ranging from a private-moral problem of one of the apprentices to the reasons for our sitting in this country, including discussions of our political situation, or reading stories to satisfy the cultural and aesthetic needs of his students. His apprentices treated him with great warmth and unbounded admiration, and admired his personality and his actions. They came to them as light, and as he walked he begged him to stay soon or return soon. He held a regular weekly shiur in Israeli faith in the movement’s branch, and played the accordion in a kindergarten in Nazareth. Menasheke received his education at home, but he also had a rabbi, who had a spiritual pain from his days at the Rav Yeshiva, who noticed his special quality as a person, and the two maintained close contact from the time they were known until the last day of Menashe. His favorite teacher was Rabbi Tzvi Yehudah Hacohen Kook, through which he became acquainted with the books of Rabbi Kook zt “l, and drank thirstily for them.Menchaseh taught in Nazareth and Haifa and wrote articles on the faith of Israel and his Torah, And once upon a time he approached secular children who had rioted in the streets of Upper Nazareth, and within a few minutes of conversation managed to persuade them to come to him for weekly meetings at his home, and eventually became his children. Menashe BeckerThe containment and break-up against the Egyptians on the Sinai front. On the 20th of Tishrei 5740 (20.10.1973), in the late twilight hours his unit dealt with the combing of the combat zone. Suddenly the force opened fire with an ambush by Egyptian commandos. The front platoon – the platoon of Yitzhak Menashe – passed the railway embankment along the sweet water channel and charged at the source of the fire. In the assault, one of the soldiers was injured, and the medic together with Yitzhak-Menashe felt compelled to give him first aid. Then the three men opened fire and Menashe was hit in the chest and killed. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl. He left behind a pregnant wife, son of-Elyakim-Tzvi and Daughter of-Elimor, who was born after they fell, parents and siblings. After his fall, he was promoted to corporal. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, his commander wrote: “Be a model for everyone, brave and diligent, encouraging those in need of encouragement.”
