Davidovitch, Shlomo


Son of Malka and Avraham-Zvi, was born in 1913 in Czechoslovakia and immigrated to Israel in 1935. When he enlisted in the Israel Defense Forces, he was a corporal in one of the Oded regiments. Shlomo fell in Tarshiha during the Hiram operation for the liberation of the Western Galilee on the 25th of Tishrai, October 28, 1948 and was buried in the military cemetery in Nahariya. His brother Yitzhak fell the day before the declaration of the state in a battle over the Arab village of Tira. On the third day of Menachem Av, 5704 (August 2, 1954), he was laid to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
