Davidovich, Eliezer-David

Son of Aryeh and Leah. He was born on the 12th of Tevet 1928 in Jerusalem. His parents were members of the Galilee Organization (Hamra). When he completed his studies at the school in Tel Aviv, his parents sent him to study at the agricultural school in Mikveh Israel. He also studied at the Naval Professional School near the Hebrew Technion in Haifa. At the age of 15, he joined the ranks of the Palmach and by the time he was 16, he enlisted in the first company of the Jewish Brigade and served in several European countries, and in April 1948 he joined the Palmach unit. Participated in the explosion of the Egyptian train and other acts of sabotage on the enemy’s transportation routes. After further training he served as a diving instructor. On September 20, 1949, he fell in the line of duty and was put to rest at the military cemetery in Haifa (where his brother Menasseh’s body had been transferred, which fell a month before Eliezer was drafted and laid to rest at Yad Mordechai). The naval commando unit to which Eliezer belonged was issued a booklet with words of appreciation to him. Also named after him is a training boat in the naval commando unit.
