Davidovich, Avraham
Son of Klara and Yitzhak, was born on 10.1.1928 in Constantinople, Turkey, and arrived in Israel with his parents in 1941. A few months after his immigration, he became accustomed to the conditions of the country and was one of the “sabras” in every respect. Among his friends and associates, he is called Betu, abbreviated by his Latin name Alberto. He was attracted to kibbutz life. He spent a short time in Na’an and joined the immigrant youth movement from Turkey. Avraham went on a training course at Kibbutz Tel Yosef and worked as a coward. Three years later he returned to the city in order to return later to kibbutz life and in the meantime worked in mechanics. At the age of 16 he enlisted in the Hebrew settlement police and was promoted to the rank of commander in the Northern Command, serving in the command of the Alexandroni Brigade, participating in the purification operations in the vicinity of Ramat Hakovesh Ten days after the proclamation of the State of Israel, on 14 May 1948, he left with his company to conquer Arab Tantura, but at the last stage of the breakthrough he was hit by a bullet. : “The burglars, come on!” And fell to eternal rest in the military cemetery in Netanya.
