Davidescu, Jacob-Asher (Oscar)


Son of-Etal and Shmuel was born in 1920 in the city of Sapol, in the region of Moldavia, Romania, where he completed his studies at the seminary, and was a member of a Zionist youth movement and was preparing to immigrate to Israel. And served in the Givati ​​Brigade. His family remained in exile. In all the circumstances of his life – in studies and training, in the movement and in the army – he fulfilled his duty consistently and responsibly. Oskar fell in the “Yoav” operation to break the road to the Negev, in a battle for the outposts of the junction, on the 17th of Tishrei, 5709 (October 17, 1948) and was put to rest at the military cemetery in the village of Warburg.
