David, Ephraim


Ephraim, son of Esther and Abraham David, was born on Moshav Menahemia, on November 16, 1953. Ephraim was drafted into the IDF in early February 1972. Wearing a parachutist’s wings From the first day he wore a uniform, Ephraim was stationed in the Armored Corps, completed a course for armor professions with a very high grade and an armored instructors course, and remained at the base as a mentor. He rose quickly in the ranks and was one of the best at the base. During his service, he used to rush home during vacations and help his parents work in the farm. When the Yom Kippur War broke out, Ephraim was sent to the Golan Heights and participated in the battle against the Syrians as a tank driver. In the battle that took place on the 13th of Tishrei (October 9, 1973), his tank was hit and he was killed. He was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Menahemia. Survived by his parents and three brothers. After his fall, he was promoted to First Sergeant.
