Darmon, Michael


Son of Nadine and Raymond. He was born on February 28, 1975, in France. When he was three, Michael immigrated to Israel with his family, who settled in Jerusalem, where he grew up and was educated. Michael began studying at the “Gila” religious elementary school and continued at the Efrata school in the Baka neighborhood. Michael began his high school studies at the Jonathan Gnogli High School and graduated from the College of Management, founded by the Israel Clerical Workers’ Union in Jerusalem, where Michael belonged to the religious Scouts movement and was a member of the Masuot tribe, but Michael preferred to invest his time and He studied Judo for about 10 years, participated in competitions in Israel and abroad, and even received certificates and medals for his achievements in this sport. At the beginning of August 1993 Michael enlisted in the IDF and soon learned to love military service, where Michael found the perfect framework in which he believed that power could be combined with wisdom, and he felt that he could realize all his personal qualities for a national purpose. He was very talented and very persuasive, and he always knew how to combine smile and rigidity, friendship and discipline, responsibility and safety, honesty and loyalty. On January 1, 1997, in the course of his duties, Michael fell in a car accident, not far away Estate basis it served, before he was twenty-two years. In a letter of consolation to the family, the unit commander notes: “Michael managed to build a professional and cohesive team that could meet his high demands and transfer training in a good atmosphere.” Michael’s commander from basic training remembers him “with a captivating smile that even I, not to mention the girls, was captivated by his charms.” When Michael was on an officer’s course, he told the same commander how much he would like to resemble his commanders from basic training. “And I am to myself,” says the commander. “I would have been proud if God had blessed me with the joy of life in you, with infinite determination and charming charm.” His friends from the judo club remember: “Michael was always in a good mood and instilled this atmosphere in all those around him, and Michael understood, perhaps better than all of us, the value of life and took advantage of every moment of his life to do something. Michael is sitting idly by. ” And his friends from the Efrata school remember “the constant smile that shines out of mischievous eyes … so much energy, so much love of life, so many thorns in the ass, such few years …”
