Daphne, Yoav

Yoav ben Yaish and Pnina. He was born on the 20th of Av, August 8th, 1955 in Ramle. He was drafted into the IDF in August 1974. Yoav was assigned to the General Service and passed a course on truck drivers. After completing the course, he was assigned to the Merhav-Shlomo Command, but he wished to serve in the Paratroopers Brigade. On April 21, 1976, he fell during his service. He was laid to rest in the military section of the cemetery in Ramle. He is survived by his parents, two sisters and a brother. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, his commander wrote: ” Yoav was a devoted soldier, devoted to his commanders and to his comrades in the unit and was full of life. ” His parents donated a Torah scroll to his memory.
